Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:  Provide support and assistance to the Distribution Center by coordinating the workflow within an assigned department and ensuring that merchandise is processed and shipped in a safe, timely, accurate, and cost efficient manner. A Group Leader will provide guidance to Team Leaders and associates and must be able to perform the physical requirements of these positions as well as the physical aspects listed below. The Group Leader must demonstrate and promote this each day.

 

Note: Regular schedule is Monday - Thursday (Friday, Saturday & Sunday as needed due to increase volume). Our schedule is 4pm to 2:30am.

Responsibilities

INTERACTION:

  • Reports to Logistics Area Leader.
  • Interaction with other leaders and associates in the department.
  • Interaction with other individuals within the Distribution Center and Business Partners.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Responsible for all production activities and, in conjunction with Team Leaders and/or Area Leaders, determine operational needs
  • Reporting daily production results related to the area of responsibility.
  • Mastering Key Performance Indicators calculations
  • Administer company policies and practices, and ensure compliance.

  • Administer company established discipline procedures for policy violations.
  • Ensuring resources are allocated to meet production goals
  • Ensure that new and existing associates receive effective training and cross training to meet performance expectations
  • Effectively communicate information to associates in the absence of the DC Team Leader
  • Assess and evaluate associates’ effectiveness to provide feedback to the department Team Leader
  • Identify processing problems; notify and work with the Team Leaders and support areas as needed
  • Be a ‘Subject Matter Expert’ (SME) on your direct area of responsibility
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean/safe work environment
  • Maintain confidentiality of all company and customer information
  • May be required to perform other processing functions or to move to other departments to work, based on business needs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises Team Leaders on a daily basis through activities including (but not restricted to) hiring, motivating, delegating, promoting, counseling and coaching, performance appraisals and pay-rate reviews; scheduling and termination.

 

Qualifications

  • Must have adequate vision, speech, hearing and physical ability to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Must have full body rotation and mobility (i.e., bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, etc.) to perform essential job functions.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. necessary to handle/move cartons of merchandise.
  • Standing on feet 80% of day.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.
  • At least 1 year experience in operations leadership preferred
  • Proven leadership skills and experience in employee relations.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Multidisciplinary experience (i.e. operations, logistics, retail, supply chain, transportation, manufacturing and distribution) is a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate logically and clearly in a group or individual setting.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and adapt to changing work requirements
  • Self-directed, multi-tasking, hands on, and action oriented with the ability to perform in high pressure and dynamic situations.
